Tacos at 419 Tacos

Tacos and Mexican street fare has left its mark in the mind of foodies, and my mind is no exception to that mark! I like tacos for various reasons. They can be traditional or adventurous. They can complement a meal, or serve as their own main course. Seems like a perfect thing to eat for lunch.

Sunday afternoon with tacos

On this particular Sunday afternoon, my lunch partner and I went to 419 Tacos in Toledo, Ohio, where I enjoyed an adventurous main course of tacos. The Taco Vallarta, Mango, and Cabo were all amazing and flavorful.

The Taco Vallarta

Grilled chicken, jalapeños, pineapple, cheese.

A great balance with some very simple ingredients. The grilled chicken is extremely robust and flavorful. The pineapple soothes the spice from the jalapeños and makes for an amazing flavor combination.

The Taco Mango

Grilled shrimp, mango, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, queso fresco.

A very fresh and lean taco. The sweet mango complements the grilled shrimp in an exciting way.

The Taco Cabo

Fried shrimp, cabbage, pico, queso fresco.

One of my absolute favorites, the fried shrimp’s crunchy texture paired with fresh cabbage is a satisfying bite. Add fresh toppings and this taco really hits the spot.

Three tacos, and um, how about two more?

Yes, yes, I know I’m supposed to watch my portions. But then delicious tacos happened. After I ate these three, I ordered another Taco Cabo and Taco Mango. Yeah, that’s five delicious tacos in one sitting. Jealous yet?

Here’s pics of me enjoying this taco.

Five tacos leaves a lot of room for debate on weight control and portions. But it was Sunday, I was hungry, and the tacos were going down so smooth that day. Sometimes, you have to treat yourself. Can you think of a better way?
