Why Chilla Chows Down?

It’s a journey of one man losing weight.

I changed my outlook and general attitude towards food in an effort to lose weight. During that change, I’ve found that I can eat well and still enjoy delicious foods! I’m hoping you will be inspired by this journey as well!

I was big, and 344 lbs of me were enough.

I needed to change my habits.

I was a big boy, and I don’t mean the rapper from Outkast! The maximum weight I reached was 344 pounds (Holy shit it hurts my heart to say it). I knew I needed to make a change; my eating habits needed to be adjusted. So I made minor lifestyle changes that led to pretty great results!

What I did was simple. I became more proactive about my food; I demanded more from my meals. Making healthy meals at home now allows me to also indulge in classic comfort foods when I’m out. I’m still actively maintaining my weight and getting pretty great results.

Here’s me today! And I’m still dropping pounds!

The weight loss journey continues.

I currently weigh approximately 235 pounds. That’s a 109 pound difference! I’m still approaching my target weight and enjoying delicious “slap-on-the-wrist” foods such as pasta, chicken wings and pizza!

Weight loss is about the journey and the process. It’s not a magic trick, or something you can respond to with, “I woke up like this”. It’s never a perfect ride. It takes a real change and self reflection. Weight loss involves a lifestyle change, a retraining on how to live, and there is no way around that fact.

Here we are at Chilla Chows Down.
